Torsion architecture

philosophy...

Torsion was created to move outside the institutional bureaucracy that supports the built environment which is currently substantially failing us. I often sit there holding my daughter thinking, what can I do to make this world better for her? Is it putting a graphically interesting website together so visitors find themselves thinking "cool page", or pushing that a project use solar panels because they are "green"? No, comes to mind. What I feel is that it is time to use the common sense that we Kansan's have. To look past politics, race, and cultural differences and to provide the future inhabitants of our broken world a place they can call home. Not the same empty promises written on plaques that say, "this is a green building because we paid someone to say that it is." Torsion is about responsible design, well intentioned although occasionally flawed as any fluctuating thing is, but at the end of the day a studio that I can walk out of and know I did something to make the world better for all of our sons and daughters.

mission...

Torsion is committed to achieving meaningful design concepts consistent with client needs, budgetary constraints, and environmental responsibility. Simple design strategies mixed with a modern material palette provides exceptional flexibility while maintaining project individuality.
